A student subclass 500 visa, which went into effect on July 1, 2016, allows you to remain in Australia for the length of your study program, usually up to five years, starting on the day of enrolment. You must make sure your visa is still valid and that you follow the requirements listed on your student visa for Australia in order to have a trouble-free stay. To fill out and submit your application for an Australia student visa, you must first create an account on the Department of Home Affairs' (DHA) ImmiAccount online application system. Once your visa has been submitted, you may use ImmiAccount to monitor its progress. Your application must be received no later than six weeks and no sooner than twelve weeks prior to the commencement of your course.
